Physical & electrical characteristics

1.1/1.1 kV Type 2S – Individually screened machine cables

3.3/3.3 kV Type 2S.3 – Individually screened machine cables

1.1/1.1 kV Type 2S – Collectively screened machine cables

Type 2S cables are designed for wiring mobile mining equipment such as continuous miners, shuttle cars, road headers, and personnel transporters. Rated at 0.6/1 kV, these cables are elastomer insulated and sheathed, featuring screening to ensure electrical integrity. Unlike Type 1 cables, Type 2S cables do not require additional mechanical protection when installed externally (non-protected environments). These cables are used extensively for interconnection of equipment including control boxes, motors, and are also suitable for longwall lighting systems.

Product Features

  • Mechanically Robust: Sheathed design removes the need for additional mechanical protection in external settings.

  • Designed for Mobile Mining Equipment: Ideal for wiring continuous miners, shuttle cars, road headers, personnel transporters, and longwall lighting systems.

  • Electrical Integrity: EPR insulation combined with high-quality screened conductors ensures stable and interference-free power and control signals.

  • Flexible and Durable: Heavy duty CPE outer sheath protects against abrasion, chemicals, weather, and water exposure.

  • Fire Retardant: Complies with AS/NZS 1972 fire retardant requirements.

Application Areas

Primarily used for interconnection of mobile mining equipment, including control boxes, motors, and also suitable for longwall lighting systems in free air and protected environments.

Quality Certifications

  • AS/NZS 1972

Installation and Maintenance
